Lunar New Year

This year we celebrated Lunar New Year with my brother & his family. Saturday, the 8th we headed to the Korean market to buy a few things for our celebration. It was a lot of fun looking at everything & picking what we wanted to try. We got a few different candies & cookies, but stuck with what we knew we liked for the main meal.

Daniel, Anna, Emma, & Lane came to visit us & try Korean food. We had beef & chicken bulgolgi, white rice, & mandu dumplings. Yummy! I think everyone enjoyed the meal because everything was gone, except for a little rice! It was really nice to introduce a little Korean to some of my family. We enjoyed having them over & spending time with them! Samuel loved having 2 playmates. After dinner we played Phase 10 & it actually didn’t get interrupted too often considering we had 3 littles. We were done by 9:00! Bill won! I haven’t been doing very well in my Phase 10 game lately. Haha!

Overall it was such a nice time & I’m glad we could enjoy the company & eat some yummy Korean food. I know it wasn’t very traditional, but it was our own little thing. I wish we could have had everyone over! Maybe one day!

안녕하세요

I noticed on my stats of this blog that someone from Korea has been viewing my blog. I hope & pray that this is Samuel’s foster family! I had a friend help me translate something in Hangul. I would love to have direct contact with them.

This day in Seoul was really laid back. We had no plans. We were just together as a family of 3. We spent quality time trying to get to know our new son. Lots of bottle feedings, diaper changes, walks in the carrier, & naps happened on this day. It was a sweet time for us all. We did venture out to find something to eat. If I remember correctly we went back to Itaewon. We just walked around for a little while & ended up eating at Burger King! We weren’t very adventurous in the eating department on this trip! I’m not one to try unusual (to me) things, or things out of my norm. Burger King was just what we needed though. Some comfort food. We were really missing home & were ready to get home & try to start our new normal. We definitely were going to miss Seoul though! As I’ve said before….we just love Seoul! It’s where we became a mommy & a daddy! 🙂
