Thanksgiving 2013

We have so much to be thankful for everyday. There are many things that we take for granted & Thanksgiving reminds me to stop & think about all that I have. I should do this more often, but life gets busy…etc…you know the excuses. Things I should be extremely thankful for like having a home, a car, a job, running water, plenty of shoes to wear & choose from for different outfits, plenty of outfits to choose from, a close family, salvation, having a son…the list goes on…& I take these things for granted often. Thank You Lord for all of these things & so much more. You bless our family over & over & over. I’m sorry that we don’t thank You enough or give You enough praise. Thank You Lord for Your blessings on my family!

Like I said, we are blessed to have so much family & to have them close by. Thanksgiving day started out with breakfast with Mimi, Pop-pop, my brother & his family, & us. We had a great spread & plenty of food. It was so yummy! I’m so glad we could spend time with them.

After breakfast we went home for a nap & then went to see Bill’s family for dinner. We had quite a crowd there! We saw Nanny, Pappy, Bill’s sister & her family, Bill’s brother & his girls, & his aunt, uncles, cousins & their families. We always have a fun, crazy time when we see them! The little ones enjoy playing together too.

On Friday I was at work while Bill & Samuel chilled at home. I missed being with them, but was reminded to be thankful I was there to care for people & not there to be the patient. Thankful for my health! Bill & Samuel went that evening to have dinner with my mom, Walt, my brother & his family, & my sisters. I hate I had to miss it, but I had yummy food waiting for me when I got home. Unfortunately I didn’t get pictures. 😦

Saturday night we had fun with our friends Chris, Beth, & their kids. We love spending time with them & are thankful for them! We enjoyed pizza, cupcakes, & Phase 10!!! Thankful for the Herrons!

Our final Thanksgiving gathering was on Sunday. We went to my Grandma Corbin’s house for the Corbin Thanksgiving. We saw most of my aunts, uncles, cousins, & of course my Grandma. She is such a precious & special lady. We love her so much & are thankful for her. I didn’t remember to take any pics that day. 😦 If I don’t get my camera out to begin with, things get busy & I don’t think about it.

We are thankful for all of our family members. Thank you for great memories this Thanksgiving & for spending time with us. We love you all!

Thanksgiving preschool party

So much fun at preschool! Samuel is really enjoying being in Ms. Madison’s class this year. They had their Thanksgiving party on the 26th. They were adorable! I’m so thankful I was able to help & be a part of it all. It was small & cute. They had snack time, we read a book about Thanksgiving, & then they did a turkey craft!

The weekend of November 15th-17th, Nanny & Pappy were taking the camper out one last time for this year. They asked us if we would like to go & of course we did! They were going camping at Jellystone. 🙂 Samuel’s favorite. Cousin Makayla went camping too & they had a blast together! It was a very low-key weekend & we really enjoyed spending time with them & being able to slow down & not be so busy. We got there Friday morning & Samuel & Makayla rode bikes while Bill & Pappy set up the camper. We also enjoyed the playground. During the fall they don’t schedule a lot of activities so we drove around the camp site, the little ones rode bikes, & played on the playground a lot. It started raining that evening so we decided to out to eat & save our camp fire for Saturday night. After dinner the adult attempted to play Phase 10. However, if you’ve ever tried to play that with kids around, you know it doesn’t last long. 😉

Saturday was a lot of fun too! We went on a hiking trail. I ran into a spider web with a giant spider in it & almost had a heart attack! Bill was laughing at me, but it scared me! I hate spiders!!!! They rode bikes some more & then we had lunch. We waited around for the jumping pillow to open & to see Boo Boo. Samuel & Makayla kept asking when they were going to see Yogi. They were excited to get to see Boo Boo. There were no Yogi sightings though. After visiting with Boo Boo we started our campfire & Bill cooked hamburgers & hot dogs, while Nanny cooked fries. We had excellent cooks! Then we roasted marshmallows & sat by the campfire for a little while.

Sunday morning we packed up & headed back home. Thank you so much Nanny & Pappy for such a fun time & for inviting us. We always treasure our time with any of our family.

Happy birthday Aunt Mary!

Yeah, so this is almost a month behind! Life has gotten busy. I finally have time to sit down & catch the blog up before Christmas is here. My little sister & Samuel’s aunt, Mary, turned 12 on November 13th!!! It’s hard to believe! She was only 3 years old when Bill & I got married. 🙂  We are so blessed & happy to have her in our lives. Happy birthday Mary! We love you so much!

She had a couple of birthday parties, but we were out of town for her first one. So, we went to her second party on the 22nd. She had her girl friends over for a slumber party at Uncle Mo’s. Samuel was loving being in the middle of all those girls! I forgot my camera 😦  I did take a few pictures on my phone, but cannot get them to load.
