Another snowy weekend!

This weekend we had more snow! It was so beautiful! We had planned to have Samuel’s 3 year pictures taken this weekend. Well, the snow put a kink in our plans. I talked with our photographer & we decided to meet for a fun mini session in the snow! Kira with Blessed Reflections is awesome! She took some great shots in that short amount of time. We had a lot of fun too. It was definitely cold, but Samuel didn’t care! He loved every minute. He was fast & running all over the place, but she got some great shots of him. 🙂

I’ll post my pictures from home, & then Kira’s professional shots. Thank you Kira!

Nanny’s birthday party

Of course I’m behind again in blogging! 😉 A couple of weekends ago we celebrated Nanny’s birthday. Samuel was disappointed to find out that it was not a monster truck party, lol! He said, “I don’t like that kind. Purple cupcake for Nanny’s party. I don’t like that kind!” Aunt Dana said it was for a girl not a boy & then he said, “Oh, I do like that plate with the birthday on it. I like that kind for Nanny.”  He’s so funny!

We are blessed beyond measure by Bill’s mom, Joy. She does so much for us & her entire family. We are so grateful for everything that she does. I wish there were some way that we could show her just how truly blessed we are by her. Thank you Nanny! We love you & Samuel loves you a whole lot, regardless of what he might tell you! 🙂

I managed to get a few pictures, but none with the birthday girl!

Lunar New Year

This year we celebrated Lunar New Year with my brother & his family. Saturday, the 8th we headed to the Korean market to buy a few things for our celebration. It was a lot of fun looking at everything & picking what we wanted to try. We got a few different candies & cookies, but stuck with what we knew we liked for the main meal.

Daniel, Anna, Emma, & Lane came to visit us & try Korean food. We had beef & chicken bulgolgi, white rice, & mandu dumplings. Yummy! I think everyone enjoyed the meal because everything was gone, except for a little rice! It was really nice to introduce a little Korean to some of my family. We enjoyed having them over & spending time with them! Samuel loved having 2 playmates. After dinner we played Phase 10 & it actually didn’t get interrupted too often considering we had 3 littles. We were done by 9:00! Bill won! I haven’t been doing very well in my Phase 10 game lately. Haha!

Overall it was such a nice time & I’m glad we could enjoy the company & eat some yummy Korean food. I know it wasn’t very traditional, but it was our own little thing. I wish we could have had everyone over! Maybe one day!

A bittersweet day

So much happened over this past weekend that I wanted to document on our blog! Sorry for the multiple blog posts in one day, but that’s how it seems to work these days. 🙂

Sunday was a bittersweet day for me. It was the first Sunday of Samuel’s birthday month. So, that meant that he got to move up to the 3-5 year old Sunday school class & go to children’s church during the Sunday worship service. No more nursery for my big boy! He was ready & I think that he has been ready for a little while. He did so great! He went from being the oldest in a class to being the youngest. He’s the smallest one in there now. I did get just a little emotional. I can’t help it! It’s who I am. I know there are many more milestones that will make this momma emotional. 🙂  My sweet boy was so proud of himself! I know he had fun & it must have worn him out being with the bigger kids because he was asleep within minutes of being in the car. He did tell us a little about it & how much fun he had before he knocked out.

Sweet Samuel I am so enjoying being your momma! These days are going by so fast! It’s amazing how the days with you seem to go by so fast, but yet the days waiting for your little brother or sister seem to go by so slow.  I love all of the learning you are doing & am thankful for a church family that helps us. You are memorizing little verses for Awana & I’m so proud! You can even remember the verses from weeks ago. I pray that daddy & I can lead you to the cross & help you along the way. We are so blessed & honored that we were chosen to be your momma & daddy. We love you!
