How could I forget??

I can’t believe I forgot to blog about playdate with Amy, Mitchell, & Lukas! I was looking through my pictures & saw a few from our time together. I guess because it was right before all the hustle & bustle of Christmas. We met with them sometime at the beginning of December. We went to a local mall & out to eat. We always love the time with spend with them & it never seems like enough time! Since I forgot to blog about it, I don’t remember all the details. I did snap a few pics of our time together.

Pappy’s birthday

Yesterday was Granpappy’s birthday! We celebrated 61 years of life for Pappy & a little over 6 years of him being cancer free! Praise the Lord! We had fun eating dinner together as a family (thank you Nanny!!!), eating cake, watching Pappy open presents, playing Phase 10, & watching the Carolina/State game. Samuel asked him what kind of party he was going to have. He was excited when we got there to see Pappy was having a Cars/monster truck party!!!

Pappy we are blessed to have you in or life. Thank you for everything that you do! We truly can never tell you or show you how much we love & appreciate you. You are a blessing!

I unfortunately did not get any pics of Samuel & Pappy together. 😦  Here are 2 pics from family that I got.

Emma turns 2!

My sweet, blonde hair, & blue-eyed niece turned 2! We enjoyed celebrating her birthday last Sunday. It was an awesome party & Samuel had a lot of fun. I’m so thankful that Samuel & Emma love each other so much & enjoy playing together. They are so sweet. Samuel even rubbed off on her a little: she likes monster trucks! 🙂  I hope that they are always close & can count on each other. We hope you know how much you are loved sweet Emma!

Icy fun!

This past Friday we had a little snow, but mostly ice. I was thankful that I didn’t have to work & could stay at home with my family. We had some fun “sledding” on the ice! We do not have a sled, so we had to use something else around the house. We used a lid to a storage container  & it worked perfectly! It was a lot of fun! It was so cold outside that we didn’t stay out for very long each time. Samuel & I went out Friday evening & we got daddy to come out Saturday morning & enjoy the fun too.

Meeting Jaxson

Better late than never! A couple of Fridays ago we met with our friends Amy & Lukas, Brandi, Asher, & now Jaxson too! We got to meet that sweet boy! Jaxson had been home from China for about 3 weeks I believe. He is the sweetest boy.  Amy & I were expecting to have to wait a while before getting to meet him. We didn’t want to add stress to him or Brandi, but she said they were ready. He did such a great job! He played quietly on the floor next to Brandi & was taking in the other 3 crazy boys. God has great plans for this boy & we are so privileged to get to see that plan unfold. I’m so thankful for Brandi, Amy, & their families!

A New Year!

Wow!  I can’t believe it’s 2013 already! I know I say this almost every year, but this past year went by extremely fast! I usually have the same goals for each new year: to draw closer to God, ready my Bible more, be a more patient & loving mommy & wife, & to exercise more & eat healthy. I hope to do better this year with each of these things. I really just want to do better with each of them at the end of the year than what I started out at the beginning of the year. I don’t need drastic changes, but small steps to make a difference. I’m also really hoping that 2013 is the year that we see our newest additions sweet face & hold them in our arms! I can’t wait for that day!

I had to work 12 hours on New Years Eve. On the way home I picked up my sisters & we rang in the New Year together! Gennie, Mary, Samuel, & I went to my church & had so much fun playing family friendly games! Mrs. Vicky always does such a good job anytime she organizes things or comes up with activities for us to do. It was a lot of fun & time well spent. We came home just in time to ring in the New Year! The guys didn’t quite make it to midnight, lol! They were both fast asleep, snoozing away. Gennie, Mary, & I toasted each other with some Peach Mango juice. I kind of forgot to buy some sparkling grape juice, but hey, this worked!

The next day we all slept in. We just spent time together & had fun playing games like Yahtzee, Skip Bo, Life, & Hit the Deck. Samuel even joined in & helped when he could. He wanted to play so bad, so we made sure to include him too. I love board games & card games! It made me think that I want to play more family games with them in this new year. I even made some home-made Carmel corn & that was delicious! Or as Samuel would say, “Alicious!”  🙂  Now…if I can just find some people who will play Phase 10 with me (Bill no longer likes to play, boo!)!
