This & that

I have a few things to post about so this post will be a little of this & that. 🙂

Last week we applied for Samuel’s social security # & card. We finally had all the documents needed. We were very surprised it only took a total of 45 minutes in there. We were very thankful b/c that was probably about Samuel’s limit of being still & us trying to find things to entertain him while sitting in our laps. He would go back & forth. He is such a good boy though. I was reminded of this as a little girl came in! lol!  The only thing we have left to apply for is his certificate of citizenship. That isn’t a requirement right now. He is a US citizen! This is something that we are going to save up $ for & apply when we can.

This weekend we met with our friends Mitchell, Amy, & Lukas. It was great to see them again! We met at an outlet mall & tried to shop. We kind of forgot how busy it would be so close to Christmas on the weekend. It was tough to get around with 2 strollers! At one point we found a large aisle in a store that no one was around (it was the outdoor furniture area) & let the boys just run around chasing each other. After a few stores we went to a Japanese restaurant. Samuel & Lukas didn’t really like the show. They were scared of the cook when he did the fire. Didn’t really think about that. Samuel has been somewhere like that before & he did ok. They may have been feeding off each other? We were sad to see our evening come to an end. We always enjoy seeing & meeting with our friends!

Today we had our last home study visit for our Japanese adoption! We are so thankful to be making progress. Hopefully not too much longer & we will be “officially” waiting for our referral. We are expecting an up to 12 months wait to be matched.

Finally I thought I’d update you with our Jesse Tree. We have really enjoyed going through each devotion. Samuel loves this time as well. We ask him each night, “Are you ready for your Bible study?” & he runs to the table to sit & listen. He does pretty well. I just love seeing him clasp his little hands & bow his little head during prayer & at the end he says “Amen!” He really enjoys looking in our box to find the right felt ornament (he needs a little help…..he loves the crown & always picks that one!). We are up to the 10 commandments & will continue through the Bible to the birth of Christ.

Here are a few pics of the progress on our Jesse Tree.
