Forever family day!

Today is our forever family day! We are so excited & can’t even begin to explain or put into words our feelings or emotions this morning. Please say a prayer for us & Samuel in the next few hours!

Here’s our last family photo of just 2!

Seoul day 3

Today was a great day! As I posted earlier, we woke up really early & couldn’t go back to sleep. Well, about 7:15am we started getting a little tired so we went back to sleep & woke up about 10:15. We felt much better. I’m glad we were able to fall back asleep, b/c I know we need to get all the sleep we can before Samuel is with us! 🙂

So, after we woke back up we got ready & headed down to the supermarket underneath our hotel to find something to eat. We ended up getting bowls, spoons, cups, fruit, coca-cola, fruit loops, muffins & some crackers! We knew from yesterday we needed something to put in our backpack while around town, so we got a few snack items. Then we came back upstairs & ate our muffins & some fruit loops & chilled out for a little while.

Then we decided to head out into Seoul! We took the subway to *Gwanghwamun & took the Seoul City Tour bus. The bus starts at 9:00am & goes to 27 different stops. The last run is at 7:00pm. You can get off at any point that you want to. The bus comes every 30 minutes, so whenever you are done at one of the sight-seeing places you just go back where you were dropped off & get back on the bus to head to the next place you want to go. I highly recommend this to anyone coming to Seoul! It’s great! It’s only 10,000 won & you don’t have to worry about directions. It takes you to each place. The places it goes are most of the recommended sight-seeing places too! We went to 2 of the spots yesterday & there are many more we would love to see, so we are hopefully going to on Tuesday.

Today we went to the National Museum of Korea. It was huge! I believe it is the 6th largest museum in the world! There was a lot to see there! Beautiful statues, paintings, pottery, & a lot of history. We had our first “kind of” experience with Korean food there. They had a food court, & ordered hamburger steak. It was served with rice, veggies, kimchi, some kind of soup, & some kind of slaw. We shared b/c we weren’t sure about it, but it was actually okay. We didn’t really like the kimchi though. After the museum we went to the Namsan Seoul Tower. It is 350 meters high & has a 360 degree view! Beautiful & breathtaking! It was a pretty steep walk up that mountain! We bought a lock & placed it on the tower for Samuel. This is something people do when they go there out of love. We love him SO much & thought it would be a great memory. There will always be a lock with a note for Samuel at the N.Seoul Tower! Not sure if I mentioned this yesterday or not, but we had someone in the market ask to take a picture with us. Today we had 2 young girls at the tower ask if we were Americans & if they could take a picture with us! Too funny! There is so much to see that those were the only places we went today. Plus we got a late start! You can spend hours at one place though. I hope we get to see everything we wanted to before we leave! This is a once in a lifetime trip & we are so thankful & grateful to be here! I still can’t believe we are actually in Seoul! After we got off the bus we found somewhere to eat. Guess what we found?!? A KFC! 🙂 It was great! Then we got back on the subway & headed to the hotel. Hey…we survived the subway today all on our own! It really isn’t bad once you know what you are looking at! When we got to the hotel we went to the front desk to exchange more $ & also had them translate the address to SWS into Hangul in case the taxi driver didn’t speak English in the morning. The front desk staff here at *Lotte City Hotel Mapo are very nice & accomodating!

Well, if you made it this long, here are some pics for you to enjoy! We are having so much fun here! We said today, the only thing that would make it even better is if Samuel had already been with us & was enjoying it all with us too!
